My Current Book

Inspired by a true story, ROSA'S REVENGE is a view of racism from
pre-Civil War Jim Crow laws to the 1964, Civil Rights laws.  The story tells
of a reckoning about moral judgement for a victim, and redemption through
forgiveness, for a criminal and his family.
In 1928, Edward Stratford, a Natchez banker
accuses Noah of killing his Dad, Alex, and his
Mother, Rosa Thibedeaux, owners of the
"Missippi Catfish" Restaurant.
Noah runs from Natchez to Chicago, in fear of
the Klan, and Mississippi's Jim Crow hanging
tree.  Edward Stratford forecloses on the
restaurant, and Thibedeaux property.
Over thirty years later, Noah and his daughter
Sherri return to Natchez believing the new
1964 Civil Rights laws and a "dying declaration
letter," will reveal the murderer and show Noah
did not kill his parents.
Marie Lavoe had made the prediction
something would happen at the end of Rosa's
life that would need a judgment to set things
straight.
Noah is astounded when a poltergeist, or
apparition called:  "the ENTITY"  arrives to
fulfill Marie Lavoe's prophecy of a reckoning
for his Mother Rosa.
During the great depression of the 30's,
many people still had discretionary dollars
to spend on good food, and there was
world wide interest in the haunted,
"Missippi Catfish" restaurant in Natchez......
Mississippi.  This interest was not because
of good food, but rather the appearance
of an apparition, ghost, poltergeist, or
whatever it was.
All who had seen the entity said it looked
like the life-size painting of Rosa, who
had been murdered.  The painting stood
just inside the entrance of the "Missippi
Catfish......"
       ....the sudden out of nowhere
RRRHHHhhhAAAAaaappp sound of
Billy Ray's Tiger Moth flying over the
tent added to the fear excitement of the
Revelations, threat of Reverend Lowd's
Hell-fire sermon, and made the revival
atmosphere more ominous, as if the
loud sound of the Moth foreshadowed
an evil or tragic event.
Darkness had fallen fast, and so had the
altimeter of Billy's plane as he glided the
Moth towards the ground.  The Moth
was flying too low when Billy Ray
leveled it off, and gunned the engine
again, the planes wings caught a down
current.........
